This policy explains what personal information Noor-e-Hikmat collects, why, and what control you have over it. We collect as little as possible.
Information we collect
- Messages you send us. When you use the Contact us form we receive your message, the topic you chose and the page you sent it from, and your name and email address only if you choose to give them.
- Saved items and reading settings. When you save a verse, hadith, prayer or article, or choose settings such as the colour theme, Quran script, text size, reciter or the place you stopped reading, these are stored only in your own web browser on your device. They are never sent to us.
- Recitation audio. When you press Play in the Quran reader, your browser loads the recording directly from EveryAyah.com, so that website receives your IP address and browser details, as with any website you visit. Nothing is loaded from it until you press Play.
- Spam protection. When the Contact us form shows a "verify you are human" check, that check is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile. While it runs, your browser connects to Cloudflare, which receives your IP address and browser details for that check.
- Technical information. Like every website, our hosting server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
We do not run advertising, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy first.
How we use it
We use your message to fix problems and improve the site, and your email address (if you give one) only to reply to you. We do not sell or share your information for marketing.
Who processes it for us
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which stores the site and its data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Messages sent through the Contact us form are deleted automatically 12 months after we receive them. Server logs are kept for the period set by our hosting provider.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you. Send your request through the Contact us form at the bottom of every page, and give the email address you used, so that we can find your messages.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
