Ash-Shams

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

1. 91:1

   وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ﴿١﴾

   وَالشَّمۡسِ وَضُحٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿١﴾

   1By the sun and its brightness

2. 91:2

   وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ﴿٢﴾

   وَالۡقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٢﴾

   2And [by] the moon when it follows it

3. 91:3

   وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ﴿٣﴾

   وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا جَلّٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٣﴾

   3And [by] the day when it displays it

4. 91:4

   وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا ﴿٤﴾

   وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا يَغۡشٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٤﴾

   4And [by] the night when it covers it

5. 91:5

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ﴿٥﴾

   وَالسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٥﴾

   5And [by] the sky and He who constructed it

6. 91:6

   وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا ﴿٦﴾

   وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا طَحٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٦﴾

   6And [by] the earth and He who spread it

7. 91:7

   وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا ﴿٧﴾

   وَنَفۡسٍ وَّمَا سَوّٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٧﴾

   7And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

8. 91:8

   فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا ﴿٨﴾

   فَاَلۡهَمَهَا فُجُوۡرَهَا وَتَقۡوٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٨﴾

   8And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness

9. 91:9

   قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا ﴿٩﴾

   قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ مَنۡ زَكّٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿٩﴾

   9He has succeeded who purifies it

10. 91:10

    وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا ﴿١٠﴾

    وَقَدۡ خَابَ مَنۡ دَسّٰىهَاؕ‏ ﴿١٠﴾

    10And he has failed who instills it [with corruption]

11. 91:11

    كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ ﴿١١﴾

    كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُوۡدُ بِطَغۡوٰىهَا٘ۙࣕ‏ ﴿١١﴾

    11Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression

12. 91:12

    إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا ﴿١٢﴾

    اِذِ انۭۡبَعَثَ اَشۡقٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿١٢﴾

    12When the most wretched of them was sent forth

13. 91:13

    فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا ﴿١٣﴾

    فَقَالَ لَهُمۡ رَسُوۡلُ اللّٰهِ نَاقَةَ اللّٰهِ وَسُقۡيٰهَاؕ‏ ﴿١٣﴾

    13And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink

14. 91:14

    فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا ﴿١٤﴾

    فَكَذَّبُوۡهُ فَعَقَرُوۡهَا ࣢ۙࣕفَدَمۡدَمَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ بِذَنۭۡبِهِمۡ فَسَوّٰىهَاۙࣕ‏ ﴿١٤﴾

    14But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]

15. 91:15

    وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا ﴿١٥﴾

    وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقۡبٰهَاࣖ‏ ﴿١٥﴾

    15And He does not fear the consequence thereof
