Al-Alaq

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

1. 96:1

   ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ﴿١﴾

   اِقۡرَاۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِيۡ خَلَقَۚ‏ ﴿١﴾

   1Recite in the name of your Lord who created

2. 96:2

   خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ ﴿٢﴾

   خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍۚ‏ ﴿٢﴾

   2Created man from a clinging substance

3. 96:3

   ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ ﴿٣﴾

   اِقۡرَاۡ وَرَبُّكَ الۡاَكۡرَمُۙ‏ ﴿٣﴾

   3Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous

4. 96:4

   ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ ﴿٤﴾

   الَّذِيۡ عَلَّمَ بِالۡقَلَمِۙ‏ ﴿٤﴾

   4Who taught by the pen

5. 96:5

   عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ ﴿٥﴾

   عَلَّمَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡؕ‏ ﴿٥﴾

   5Taught man that which he knew not

6. 96:6

   كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ ﴿٦﴾

   كَلَّا٘ اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لَيَطۡغٰ٘يۙ‏ ﴿٦﴾

   6No! [But] indeed, man transgresses

7. 96:7

   أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ ﴿٧﴾

   اَنۡ رَّاٰهُ اسۡتَغۡنٰيؕ‏ ﴿٧﴾

   7Because he sees himself self-sufficient

8. 96:8

   إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ ﴿٨﴾

   اِنَّ اِلٰي رَبِّكَ الرُّجۡعٰيؕ‏ ﴿٨﴾

   8Indeed, to your Lord is the return

9. 96:9

   أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ ﴿٩﴾

   اَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِيۡ يَنۡهٰيۙ‏ ﴿٩﴾

   9Have you seen the one who forbids

10. 96:10

    عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ ﴿١٠﴾

    عَبۡدًا اِذَا صَلّٰيؕ‏ ﴿١٠﴾

    10A servant when he prays

11. 96:11

    أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ ﴿١١﴾

    اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَانَ عَلَي الۡهُدٰ٘يۙ‏ ﴿١١﴾

    11Have you seen if he is upon guidance

12. 96:12

    أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ ﴿١٢﴾

    اَوۡ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقۡوٰيؕ‏ ﴿١٢﴾

    12Or enjoins righteousness

13. 96:13

    أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ ﴿١٣﴾

    اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰيؕ‏ ﴿١٣﴾

    13Have you seen if he denies and turns away

14. 96:14

    أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ ﴿١٤﴾

    اَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرٰيؕ‏ ﴿١٤﴾

    14Does he not know that Allah sees

15. 96:15

    كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ ﴿١٥﴾

    كَلَّا لَئِنۡ لَّمۡ يَنۡتَهِ ࣢ۙلَنَسۡفَعًاۭ بِالنَّاصِيَةِۙ‏ ﴿١٥﴾

    15No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock

16. 96:16

    نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ ﴿١٦﴾

    نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍۚ‏ ﴿١٦﴾

    16A lying, sinning forelock

17. 96:17

    فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ ﴿١٧﴾

    فَلۡيَدۡعُ نَادِيَهٗۙ‏ ﴿١٧﴾

    17Then let him call his associates

18. 96:18

    سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ ﴿١٨﴾

    سَنَدۡعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَۙ‏ ﴿١٨﴾

    18We will call the angels of Hell

19. 96:19

    كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩ ﴿١٩﴾

    كَلَّاؕ لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَاسۡجُدۡ وَاقۡتَرِبۡࣛࣖ‏ ﴿١٩﴾

    ۩ Verse of prostration (sajdah)

    19No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]
