Al-Mutaffifin

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

1. 83:1

   وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ﴿١﴾

   وَيۡلٌ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِيۡنَۙ‏ ﴿١﴾

   1Woe to those who give less [than due]

2. 83:2

   ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ ﴿٢﴾

   الَّذِيۡنَ اِذَا اكۡتَالُوۡا عَلَي النَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُوۡنَؗۖ‏ ﴿٢﴾

   2Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full

3. 83:3

   وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ ﴿٣﴾

   وَاِذَا كَالُوۡهُمۡ اَوۡ وَّزَنُوۡهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٣﴾

   3But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss

4. 83:4

   أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ ﴿٤﴾

   اَلَا يَظُنُّ اُولٰٓئِكَ اَنَّهُمۡ مَّبۡعُوۡثُوۡنَۙ‏ ﴿٤﴾

   4Do they not think that they will be resurrected

5. 83:5

   لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٥﴾

   لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿٥﴾

   5For a tremendous Day

6. 83:6

   يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ﴿٦﴾

   يَّوۡمَ يَقُوۡمُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٦﴾

   6The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds

   83:7

   كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ ﴿٧﴾

   كَلَّا٘ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡفُجَّارِ لَفِيۡ سِجِّيۡنٍؕ‏ ﴿٧﴾

   7No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen

8. 83:8

   وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ ﴿٨﴾

   وَمَا٘ اَدۡرٰىكَ مَا سِجِّيۡنٌؕ‏ ﴿٨﴾

   8And what can make you know what is sijjeen

9. 83:9

   كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ ﴿٩﴾

   كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌؕ‏ ﴿٩﴾

   9It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

10. 83:10

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿١٠﴾

    وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَۙ‏ ﴿١٠﴾

    10Woe, that Day, to the deniers

11. 83:11

    ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ﴿١١﴾

    الَّذِيۡنَ يُكَذِّبُوۡنَ بِيَوۡمِ الدِّيۡنِؕ‏ ﴿١١﴾

    11Who deny the Day of Recompense

12. 83:12

    وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ ﴿١٢﴾

    وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهٖ٘ اِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ اَثِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿١٢﴾

    12And none deny it except every sinful transgressor

13. 83:13

    إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿١٣﴾

    اِذَا تُتۡلٰي عَلَيۡهِ اٰيٰتُنَا قَالَ اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏ ﴿١٣﴾

    13When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples

14. 83:14

    كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿١٤﴾

    كَلَّا بَلۡࣝ رَانَ عَلٰي قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ ﴿١٤﴾

    14No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning

15. 83:15

    كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ ﴿١٥﴾

    كَلَّا٘ اِنَّهُمۡ عَنۡ رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٍ لَّمَحۡجُوۡبُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿١٥﴾

    15No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned

16. 83:16

    ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿١٦﴾

    ثُمَّ اِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُوا الۡجَحِيۡمِؕ‏ ﴿١٦﴾

    16Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire

17. 83:17

    ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿١٧﴾

    ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هٰذَا الَّذِيۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿١٧﴾

    17Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny

18. 83:18

    كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ ﴿١٨﴾

    كَلَّا٘ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡاَبۡرَارِ لَفِيۡ عِلِّيِّيۡنَؕ‏ ﴿١٨﴾

    18No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun

19. 83:19

    وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ﴿١٩﴾

    وَمَا٘ اَدۡرٰىكَ مَا عِلِّيُّوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿١٩﴾

    19And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun

20. 83:20

    كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ ﴿٢٠﴾

    كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌۙ‏ ﴿٢٠﴾

    20It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

21. 83:21

    يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿٢١﴾

    يَّشۡهَدُهُ الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٢١﴾

    21Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]

22. 83:22

    إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ ﴿٢٢﴾

    اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ لَفِيۡ نَعِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿٢٢﴾

    22Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

23. 83:23

    عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

    عَلَي الۡاَرَآئِكِ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَۙ‏ ﴿٢٣﴾

    23On adorned couches, observing

24. 83:24

    تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿٢٤﴾

    تَعۡرِفُ فِيۡ وُجُوۡهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ النَّعِيۡمِۚ‏ ﴿٢٤﴾

    24You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure

25. 83:25

    يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ ﴿٢٥﴾

    يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِنۡ رَّحِيۡقٍ مَّخۡتُوۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿٢٥﴾

    25They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed

26. 83:26

    خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾

    خِتٰمُهٗ مِسۡكٌؕ وَفِيۡ ذٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ الۡمُتَنٰفِسُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٢٦﴾

    26The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete

27. 83:27

    وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ ﴿٢٧﴾

    وَمِزَاجُهٗ مِنۡ تَسۡنِيۡمٍۙ‏ ﴿٢٧﴾

    27And its mixture is of Tasneem

28. 83:28

    عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾

    عَيۡنًا يَّشۡرَبُ بِهَا الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٢٨﴾

    28A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink

29. 83:29

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾

    اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اَجۡرَمُوۡا كَانُوۡا مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا يَضۡحَكُوۡنَؗۖ‏ ﴿٢٩﴾

    29Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed

30. 83:30

    وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾

    وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُوۡنَؗۖ‏ ﴿٣٠﴾

    30And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances

31. 83:31

    وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

    وَاِذَا انۡقَلَبُوۡ٘ا اِلٰ٘ي اَهۡلِهِمُ انۡقَلَبُوۡا فَكِهِيۡنَؗۖ‏ ﴿٣١﴾

    31And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting

32. 83:32

    وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ ﴿٣٢﴾

    وَاِذَا رَاَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۡ٘ا اِنَّ هٰ٘ؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّوۡنَۙ‏ ﴿٣٢﴾

    32And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost

33. 83:33

    وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ ﴿٣٣﴾

    وَمَا٘ اُرۡسِلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حٰفِظِيۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٣٣﴾

    33But they had not been sent as guardians over them

34. 83:34

    فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿٣٤﴾

    فَالۡيَوۡمَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنَ الۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُوۡنَۙ‏ ﴿٣٤﴾

    34So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers

    83:35

    عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾

    عَلَي الۡاَرَآئِكِۙ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَؕ‏ ﴿٣٥﴾

    35On adorned couches, observing

36. 83:36

    هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾

    هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ الۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَࣖ‏ ﴿٣٦﴾

    36Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do
