Al-Burooj

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

بِسۡمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِيۡمِ

1. 85:1

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ ﴿١﴾

   وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الۡبُرُوۡجِۙ‏ ﴿١﴾

   1By the sky containing great stars

2. 85:2

   وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ ﴿٢﴾

   وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡمَوۡعُوۡدِۙ‏ ﴿٢﴾

   2And [by] the promised Day

3. 85:3

   وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ ﴿٣﴾

   وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشۡهُوۡدٍؕ‏ ﴿٣﴾

   3And [by] the witness and what is witnessed

4. 85:4

   قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ ﴿٤﴾

   قُتِلَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡاُخۡدُوۡدِۙ‏ ﴿٤﴾

   4Cursed were the companions of the trench

5. 85:5

   ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ ﴿٥﴾

   النَّارِ ذَاتِ الۡوَقُوۡدِۙ‏ ﴿٥﴾

   5[Containing] the fire full of fuel

6. 85:6

   إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ ﴿٦﴾

   اِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُوۡدٌۙ‏ ﴿٦﴾

   6When they were sitting near it

7. 85:7

   وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ ﴿٧﴾

   وَّهُمۡ عَلٰي مَا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ بِالۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ شُهُوۡدٌؕ‏ ﴿٧﴾

   7And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses

8. 85:8

   وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ ﴿٨﴾

   وَمَا نَقَمُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ اِلَّا٘ اَنۡ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡحَمِيۡدِۙ‏ ﴿٨﴾

   8And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy

9. 85:9

   ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ﴿٩﴾

   الَّذِيۡ لَهٗ مُلۡكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰي كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ شَهِيۡدٌؕ‏ ﴿٩﴾

   9To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness

10. 85:10

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ﴿١٠﴾

    اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ فَتَنُوا الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ وَالۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوۡبُوۡا فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ الۡحَرِيۡقِؕ‏ ﴿١٠﴾

    10Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire

11. 85:11

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ﴿١١﴾

    اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنّٰتٌ تَجۡرِيۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُؕ ذٰلِكَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡكَبِيۡرُؕ‏ ﴿١١﴾

    11Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment

12. 85:12

    إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ ﴿١٢﴾

    اِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيۡدٌؕ‏ ﴿١٢﴾

    12Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe

13. 85:13

    إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ ﴿١٣﴾

    اِنَّهٗ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيۡدُۚ‏ ﴿١٣﴾

    13Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats

14. 85:14

    وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ ﴿١٤﴾

    وَهُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الۡوَدُوۡدُۙ‏ ﴿١٤﴾

    14And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate

15. 85:15

    ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ ﴿١٥﴾

    ذُو الۡعَرۡشِ الۡمَجِيۡدُۙ‏ ﴿١٥﴾

    15Honorable Owner of the Throne

16. 85:16

    فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ﴿١٦﴾

    فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيۡدُؕ‏ ﴿١٦﴾

    16Effecter of what He intends

17. 85:17

    هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ ﴿١٧﴾

    هَلۡ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيۡثُ الۡجُنُوۡدِۙ‏ ﴿١٧﴾

    17Has there reached you the story of the soldiers

18. 85:18

    فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ ﴿١٨﴾

    فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُوۡدَؕ‏ ﴿١٨﴾

    18[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud

19. 85:19

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ ﴿١٩﴾

    بَلِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا فِيۡ تَكۡذِيۡبٍۙ‏ ﴿١٩﴾

    19But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denial

20. 85:20

    وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ ﴿٢٠﴾

    وَّاللّٰهُ مِنۡ وَّرَآئِهِمۡ مُّحِيۡطٌۚ‏ ﴿٢٠﴾

    20While Allah encompasses them from behind

21. 85:21

    بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ ﴿٢١﴾

    بَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡاٰنٌ مَّجِيۡدٌۙ‏ ﴿٢١﴾

    21But this is an honored Qur'an

22. 85:22

    فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ ﴿٢٢﴾

    فِيۡ لَوۡحٍ مَّحۡفُوۡظٍࣖ‏ ﴿٢٢﴾
